WELCOME TO CROSSROADS LEARNING CENTRE

Our Mission

CrossRoads Learning Centre is committed to providing adult learners with the opportunities, experiences and academic preparation essential for both post-secondary education and employment. We will provide knowledgeable, dedicated teachers in a safe, challenging, and caring educational environment where instruction and assessment are aligned with high standards.

Program Overview

CrossRoads Learning Centre, in co-operation with Winnipeg Technical College, and Manitoba Advanced Education and Literacy, has embarked on a 10-month program to provide Grade 11-12 Credit Courses to adults who are 19 years of age or older and have been out of school at least six months. The goal of our program is to meet the educational needs of our students in order to prepare them to pursue further training at the post-secondary level or to secure meaningful employment.

All instructors at CrossRoads are certified teachers. Courses offered are accredited through the province of Manitoba. At CrossRoads, we prefer to have small intimate classes, to make the transition of coming back to school a little easier.

EAL Students

English is the language of instruction at CrossRoads; therefore, all who apply to take courses with us must be sufficiently proficient in English in order to participate fully in the courses.

If English is not your first language, you must demonstrate that you are ready to take Grade 12 courses by producing a minimum benchmark level of 7 in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.  In addition, you must complete our English assessment.

Mature Diploma

In order to meet the graduation requirements for a Grade 12 Mature Student Diploma, students must have a minimum of eight high school credits.  At least 4 of these credits must be at the Grade 12 Level.

Students must have one Grade 12 Math credit and one Grade 12 English credit.  It is the student's responsibility to supply a transcript of any previously earned credits in order to reduce the number of credits that must be earned at CrossRoads.
